Rajat made a conscious decision to move out of his home when he was 17, and since then, his journey has been driven by exploration. His quest for ‘exploration’ led him towards the practice of research. Driven by the power of questioning and the practice of knowledge-building, Rajat strives to use research as a catalyst for change. 

He has a Master’s degree in Development Studies from IIT, Mandi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Delhi. He was also an Urban Fellow at the India Institute for Human Settlements, Bengaluru. He is also deeply interested in understanding the organizational behavior of nonprofit organizations, and you might find him engaging with this subject area in his free time.

Rajat is currently managing Research & Partnerships at SEF, and ensuring education in India is evidence-backed.

As a child, Rajat always looked for an opportunity to step outside and explore, finding people and their stories far more interesting than anything else- a curiosity that he continues to cherish to this day.
