Gargi hails from a quaint village in Almora, Uttarakhand. After completing her graduation from Delhi University, she embarked on a career as a content writer. However, her passion for education soon drew her to a more meaningful path. She joined the Purkal Youth Development Society in Dehradun, dedicating herself to uplifting underprivileged children in Uttarakhand.
Driven by a desire to deepen her impact, Gargi became a fellow with Teach for India. Over two transformative years in Munirka, she educated 47 children, immersing herself in the realities of grassroots education and honing her skills to foster change in the classroom. Upon completing her fellowship, Gargi felt a strong pull to return to Uttarakhand, where her roots lie. She is committed to bringing her valuable experiences and insights back to her home state, aiming to transform the educational landscape there.
In her personal life, Gargi is a poet, painter, and avid reader. She cherishes time spent with children and books.
